The
Celtic Manor golf complex provides three premier courses
each of which are of the highest quality, all courses
were designed by the highly influential Robert Trent
Jones family, two of which are 18 hole championship
status.
The smaller of the three is the Coldra Woods course
which combines beautiful par-3's with a few
testing par-4's. The second course at the complex
is the championship standard Roman Road , set amongst
the historic - Via Julia (the road built by the Romans
to their fortress at Caerleon) and the surrounding
woodland. The course provides some breath taking views
over the Monmouthshire countryside. Roman Road was the venue to the 2005 Wales Open (European Tour Event).
The
latest of the three courses is the mouth watering
Wentwood Hills, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr
this course measures well over 7,000yds off the championship
tees and provides unrivalled golf facilities, it's
already secured the Wales Open from 2000 and has been
awarded the 2010 Ryder Cup between Europe and the
USA. The Wentwood Hills course is to undergo reconstruction work from September 2005 in readyness for the 2010 Ryder Cup. We are able to offer our clients a substantially
discounted green fee for non-residents and special
rates on weekend resident golf breaks. The resort
is to be found adjacent to junction 24 of the M4.
